Accessibility Statement

Our commitment
We want everyone to be able to use the Scott Insurance Services website. That includes people who use a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, a screen magnifier, or larger text. We keep testing the site and fixing what we find, and we welcome your feedback.
What this site does
- Readable type. Our fonts are stored on this website, not loaded from another company, and body text is set at a comfortable size and line length.
- Clear contrast. Text is dark on light backgrounds or white on dark ones, and we check every pair of text and background colors against the WCAG contrast guidelines.
- Keyboard navigation. You can reach every link, button, and form field with the Tab key. A "Skip to content" link at the top of each page lets you jump past the menu.
- Visible focus. When you move through a page with the keyboard, the item you are on always shows a clear outline.
- Clear structure. Each page has one main heading and labeled regions, and every form field has a label, so screen readers can move around the page.
- Motion that follows your settings. If your device is set to reduce motion, the site's animations do not run.
- An options panel. The Accessibility button at the bottom left of every page opens options for larger text, high contrast, easier reading spacing, underlined links, and paused motion. On a computer with a mouse, it also offers a bigger cursor and a reading guide. Your choices are saved in your browser, and Reset all clears them.
Most of these options are also available without the panel, through your browser's zoom or your device's own accessibility settings.
The standard we work toward
We work toward WCAG 2.2 Level AA, the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines published by the World Wide Web Consortium. This is our aim, not a certification. No outside group has audited or certified this website.
Known limits
- The map on our Contact page comes from Google, and we do not control how it works with a keyboard or a screen reader. Our address, phone number, and office hours are written out as text on the same page.
- Some image descriptions came over from our earlier website, and a few of them are not yet as clear as they should be.
- Some articles link to PDF files published by state agencies. Those files are on other websites, and we cannot change how accessible they are.
- Links to Facebook and Instagram open those companies' websites, which follow their own accessibility practices.
